Get to know Michael and learn more about his career in the legal industry through the quick interview below!

What does your role involve?

I work as an associate attorney at the PHP Law Firm to represent people who have suffered catastrophic life-altering injuries or lost loved ones due to someone else’s negligence, and my primary areas of practice are medical malpractice and personal injury. I assist our clients in making a claim or bringing a lawsuit to recover damages for the physical, financial, and emotional hardships they have suffered as a result of their injuries. The money we recover for them makes a huge difference in their lives and helps them get their lives back on track!

How did you become involved in the legal profession?

I went to law school mainly because I didn’t know what I wanted to do as a career. The summer before my third year of law school, I accepted a job as a law clerk with a small civil litigation firm to earn some money and gain more experience. I realized I loved it and haven’t looked back since.

Do you have any mentors in the industry?

I am lucky to have fantastic mentors in the partners at my law firm—Bradley J. Prochaska, James R. Howell, and Ryan A. Prochaska. They are all amazing attorneys, mentors, and people, and they have taught me everything I know.

What’s a recent challenge you’ve encountered in the legal profession?

The practice of law is constantly changing and evolving. It is important to keep up with recent changes in the law, precedent-setting court decisions, and the continuously evolving trends, issues, and challenges in your practice area. You have to stay up to date on these developments regularly and be prepared to adapt to them quickly.

Why will this be your profession long-term?

My work gives me the opportunity to provide real, meaningful help to people who have suffered severe, life-changing injuries and losses. When I think about the difference I have been able to make in our clients’ lives over the years, I can’t imagine ever wanting to do anything else.
