Our Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice Specialists

Our hard-working personal injury and medical malpractice specialists gather forensic evidence, interview witnesses, collect medical information, monitor our clients’ medical care, and prepare summaries of medical, personal and technical data.

Serving PHP Law Firm since 2008, Christina Stephen oversees the office operations, including marketing and IT. She also assists Attorney James R. Howell with his cases, which are typically personal injury cases that include medical malpractice, product liability, wrongful death, construction accidents and motor vehicle accidents.

Prior to joining the firm, Christina worked in the medical, insurance and legal defense fields, which provides an alternative perspective that has proven to be a unique advantage. Today, she is passionate about helping victims of personal injury cases whom she considers friends.

Christina loves spending time with her three children, family and friends. She also enjoys riding her motorcycle, watching football, traveling, reading and spending time with her dogs.

I love working with families. We can't fix the past, but we can try to bring them peace of mind for their future or the future of a family member.

Drawing on education from Wichita State University and Friends University, as well as certification as a legal assistant, Lisa LaRue has been with PHP Law Firm since 1994. She is the accounting manager and also assists Attorney Bradley J. Prochaska with his cases, which are centered on medical malpractice.

Lisa is married and has three dogs. She enjoys seeing wildlife through the office windows and gardening. Lisa is the president of the Herb Society of South Central Kansas, getting involved monthly in programs and garden tours, and she is a Sedgwick County Master Gardener, which includes serving as the committee chair for the Demonstration Garden.

We have a great team at PHP and are like a second family, which makes coming to work enjoyable. I also enjoy being able to help people try and recover from unfortunate circumstances that have occurred in their life.

With PHP Law Firm since 2009, Beth Rico assists Attorney Ryan A. Prochaska, who specializes in representing medical malpractice, wrongful death and personal injury plaintiffs. She also maintains the firm’s vast medical library. Prior to joining PHP Law Firm, she gained 15 years of experience working for plaintiff firms that specialized in civil cases, class actions, mass tort litigations and probate issues.

Outside the office, Beth loves spending time with her husband and family, including her grandchildren. She also enjoys antique shopping, reading, cooking and day trip adventures.

Lindsay Baker joined PHP Law Firm in March 2018 and serves as a legal assistant. She works closely with attorneys Mike and Jakob, assisting with cases involving medical malpractice and car accidents. Her role includes client communication and providing essential support to the attorneys throughout the legal process.

With years of experience in the legal field, Lindsay is dedicated to ensuring clients receive the attention and assistance they need during challenging times. She values being part of a team that is committed to making a difference.

Outside the office, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her family and supporting youth sports. She is also navigating an exciting new chapter as her daughter begins her first year of college.

Joining PHP Law Firm in February 2024, Arleth Hermosillo serves as the firm’s receptionist and intake specialist. She works closely with legal assistants who specialize in birth injuries, medical malpractice, and personal injury cases. Her responsibilities include handling phone calls, conducting initial consultations with potential clients, managing front desk traffic, organizing medical records, ensuring office supplies are stocked, and scheduling new case meetings.

Outside the office, Arleth enjoys creating special moments with her daughter, whether it’s watching movies or spending time at the park.

Meet Charlie, our beloved Boston Terrier and honorary team member at PHP Law Firm. Charlie belongs to Ryan Prochaska but has won the hearts of everyone in the office—especially Christina, our COO, his second favorite office human. Charlie takes his role as office greeter seriously, welcoming every visitor with enthusiasm. When he’s not making rounds, you can find him lounging in one of his many dog beds or soaking up the sunshine in Lisa’s office. He’s proof that a little tail wag can brighten any day!
